Norway

Bilia has 21 dealerships in Norway. Two of them are located in the Stavanger area, the others in the vicinity of Oslo. Bilia sells cars and provides service and repairs, above all on Volvo, Ford, BMW and Honda, which are our core brands.

Bilia is one of Norway’s biggest car dealers with a new car market share of 4.3 per cent (4.5). In 2010 the new car market increased by 29 per cent to 127,754 new cars (98,675). Bilia Norway delivered 5,531 new cars (4,411), 6,276 used cars (6,383) and 152 new transport vehicles (216) during the year.

Sales of new cars increased markedly after the slump of the last few years. The new concept for handling of used cars that was introduced in early 2009 was successful in 2010 as well. Stocks were at low levels, the annual turnover rate was nearly 9 times, and the used car business reported a profit for the second year in a row. The service market also developed positively, and the number of workshop hours sold increased during the year.

Bilia is the biggest Volvo dealer in Norway, and became the biggest BMW dealer as well in 2010.

During the second quarter an agreement was concluded with Honda on an expansion of the establishment in Gol to the facilities in Økern, Drammen and Moss. At this juncture, Honda was also defined as the fourth core brand for the operation along with Volvo, BMW and Ford.

Previously, Bilia Norway also sold Nissan and Renault, but sales of these brands were discontinued in the fourth quarter. Bilia is keeping the service operation for Renault, however.

Net turnover amounted to SEK 4,281 M (3,926), which is equivalent to 26 per cent (29) of net turnover for the whole Group.

Operating profit improved gradually during the year, amounting to SEK 110 M (49).
